    A Trip to Findlay Market

    A Trip to Findlay Market

I wake up early and breathe in damp morning air through the open bedroom window. The sun is up, speckling leaves with a cool pale light as I lace up my Addidas for a quiet run. The air has a chilly bite that feels invigorating, but it's obvious that the sun will rapidly heat the earth today. I end my run, breathing deeply and wiping sweat from my eyes. A cup of coffee and a breakfast of fruit and toast occupies the next 30 minutes of my day, perhaps while reading the latest M
    Shaker Lemon Kumquat Pie

    Shaker Lemon Kumquat Pie

About time I made a pie, amiright?! I got the idea for this one from a book I got on sale at Joseph Beth called United States of Pie. Naturally, I flipped directly to the "Midwest" section to find out which pie was assigned to Ohio. Not quite a vegetable, not a quite a starch, but perfectly perfect in it's own starchy vegetable-y way. I usually eat one sweet potato a week, which fulfills the myplate requirement for sweet potatoes (again, I'll have to double check with the first lady, but I'm pretty sure this is accurate). This recipe was inspired by one of my closest friends who has a few dietary restriction
    Welcome to Chelston!

    Welcome to Chelston!

Hey ladiiieeeeessss!! Woop Woop!! Party over here, party over there! Party everywhere! But mostly Charleston, SC, where I spent Memorial Day weekend celebrating my main lady Chelsea's bach-e-loR-ETTE PARTY WOOOOOOO!!!! Tropical Depression Bonnie tried pretty hard to kill our vibe but failed miserably so HA. We spent most of our time laughing and eating, with a little bit of dancing and singing thrown in there. Sunday ended up being a really great day to get out and see the ci
